Kuumba Nia Productions Meada Taylor, Founder and Artistic Director Kuumba-Nia Productions Puppet Co., Lockport, NY Meada Taylor, Founder and Artistic Director of Kuumba-Nia Productions, says her love of puppetry began when she was a stay-at-home mom and her late husband performed improv puppet shows to teach their young children about all manner of subjects. As her children grew up, Meada Taylor couldn’t let go of the positive impact this creative art form has on children. In the quest to keep puppetry alive, Kuumba-Nia Productions engage in puppet shows which may be original or adaptive in origin and offers workshops in puppet performance, puppet building, puppet production, and basic acting and theatre techniques – all designed to delight and teach. On its website, the puppet productions company states its mission as: to help develop productive citizens through the art of puppetry and drama.
Take a Walk on the Beach “From sunrise to sunset” is full of symbolism for our “Love Rising” effort, and we’re blessed to be able to witness some of the most beautiful beginnings and ends to our days along the shores of Lake Ontario. Visit the beach with your family – maybe you’ll want to make it your inspirational spot for observing Love Rising on July 15th, but any day is the perfect day to have a conversation about the symbolism of nature around us. For example, consider the beach rocks. Look at all the different colors and shapes and sizes. Each one is unique and interesting in its own way. And just like the people in our community and in our world, together we make this place a special place to call home. Encourage your kids to consider comparisons and take the conversation from there!
